The Perfect Fit

It shouldn’t be any surprise that America’s most wanted men consistently look impeccable in a suit. From Cary Grant to George Clooney, they all have something in common: the prefect fit.

Fortunately for regular guys, being an A-list movie star isn’t a requirement for looking impossibly handsome and put together in a suit. On the constant pursuit to never settle for less, we feel the modern man should leave the “off-the-rack” look in the past and seek the guidance of an expert tailor.

We sat down with established Southern California tailor, David Chang, as he shared with us five basic tips for looking your best.

— Make sure the shoulders hug your body and have a snug fit. Don’t be afraid to go down a size when purchasing.

— Have your tailor take in the sides of your jacket. It will highlight your build and frame your body elegantly.

— Have your sleeves taken in too. All men have different size arms, so your suit should fit proportionally to that.

— Get your pants narrowed for a slimmer look.

— Finally, don’t be afraid to find a photo of a suit that you love and bring it to your tailor. Just like a good hair stylist can match a photo, a tailor can do the same.
